26th April 2021

Oxford United in the Community is recruiting individuals to help deliver its National Citizen Service (NCS) programmes this summer.

The football club’s official charity has multiple roles for enthusiastic, charismatic and dedicated individuals who can assist with residential and non-residential courses in July and August.

Team Leader and Assistant Team Leader roles are available for both programmes which run between Monday, July 5, until Friday, July 23, and Monday, August 9, until Friday, August 20.

NCS programmes are Government funded and provide young people the chance to tackle challenges, experience fun activities, form friendships and develop vital skills that will support them in life.

Activities this summer include outdoor adventure, workshops, social action projects, off-site visits and more. The majority of programme delivery will be based at The Kings Centre, Oxford.

Aled Newton, NCS Programme Manager at Oxford United in the Community, said: “Last year, we successfully delivered our first National Citizen Service programmes in the summer and autumn months to benefit local communities.

“This year will be bigger and better. As a result, we’re looking for energetic individuals who can help bring the best out of young people who are keen to learn and develop key skills while having some much-needed fun.

“Our programmes will adhere to the latest Government and National Youth Agency (NYA) guidance concerning the COVID-19 pandemic with the safety of staff and youngsters always our top priority.”

Successful candidates must be able to work Monday to Friday on the programme delivery dates and be prepared to base themselves in a residential setting in Milton Keynes between July 5 and 9. All travel and accommodation costs are included.

Oxford United in the Community helps inspire people to live happier and healthier lives in better connected communities using the power of football. Last year it engaged with over 2,500 people in Oxfordshire.
