30th January 2023

Football-mad youngsters of all playing abilities are invited to learn new skills and make friends at Oxford United in the Community’s half-term holiday camps next month.

The football club’s official charity will return to The Oxford Academy in Littlemore between Monday, February 13, and Friday, February 17 and Easington Sports FC in Banbury to deliver its fun, engaging and inclusive football-based programme.

Suitable for children aged 4 to 13, the camps teach new football skills and techniques in a supportive and friendly environment. Drills focus on the development of agility, balance and coordination with emphasis placed on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all participants.

Rob Porter, Oxford United in the Community’s newly appointed Lead Community Coach, has encouraged parents and carers to book now to avoid disappointment.

He said: “Our half-term football camps are a fantastic way for youngsters to learn new skills, make friends and keep active during the school holidays.

“There are a number of shining examples of personal and technical development from our camps in recent years and it has been great fun to be involved in delivery through my previous role with the charity.

“We’ve developed an all-new activity list designed for players of all abilities so everyone has the opportunity to reach their true potential by harnessing the power of the Oxford United badge and football.

“Spaces are quickly filling up, so we are strongly advising parents wishing to book either a session or a full week of activities to do so now and reserve a space. We look forward to welcoming everyone very soon!”
