Oxford United in the Community’s popular autumn half-term holiday camps for children looking to develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment are open for booking.

The football club’s official charity will run two camps this month between Monday, October 25, and Friday, October 29, at The Oxford Academy and between Tuesday, October 26, and Thursday, October 28 at Easington Sports Football Club in Banbury for sports-mad youngsters aged four to 13.

The fun programmes teach new football skills and techniques while focusing on the development of agility, balance and coordination. All abilities are welcome with the emphasis on the comfort, enjoyment and safety of all children.

Sessions are being delivered at both venues for the second time this year as part of Oxford United in the Community’s commitment to providing every person aged ‘two to 92’ living in the county with a positive connection with the charity and the football club.

Chris Lowes, Head of the Charity, said: “We’re pleased to be working in partnership with Easington Sports FC and provide young people the opportunity to participate and make friends through the power of football in Oxfordshire. We are also pleased to be running our flagship course in Oxford.

“Our sessions are designed to keep children active and provide a boost to their wellbeing through team-based challenges which develop key life skills including communication, decision making and problem solving.

“These popular sessions have been a core part of our service for many years and are always well-attended. We can only offer a limited number of spaces, so we advise parents to book on via our website in advance to avoid disappointment.”

All Oxford United in the Community coaches are FA qualified and have up to date safeguarding, first aid training and CRC checks.

Children must bring their own bottle of water and a healthy packed lunch each day and arrive between 8.45am and 9am each morning to sign-in. They are also required to wear clothing suitable for physical activity and football, including shinpads, boots, t-shirt and shorts.

Spaces are available on a first come, first served, basis and can be booked here.

Oxford United in the Community is the football club’s official charity and helps inspire people to live happier and healthier lives in better connected communities using the power of football.
