27th March 2024

Josh McEachran will make his first appearance as Oxford United in the Community’s Manor Club for the Over 50s guest speaker next Wednesday, April 3.

United’s midfielder will speak at Cowley Workers Social Club from midday on Wednesday, April 3, alongside host and charity patron Peter Rhoades-Brown.

The Oxford born 31-year-old will provide insights into his playing career, the move to

United at the end of last year and his first full season at the club under Head Coach Des Buckingham. Since signing for the U’s from MK Dons in 2023, McEachran has made 27 appearances for the yellows.

This event will give United’s senior fanbase a rare opportunity to get to know McEachran in an environment outside of the pitch where he will be happy to take additional questions from the floor.

Josh said: “It is great to have the opportunity to meet the supporters and share some of my career experiences with them.

“I really look forward to sharing such a big part of my life with such dedicated supporters. It will be great to reflect on my first season at the club and get the opportunity to hear from some of the fans.”

Oxford United in the Community Patron and Manor Club host Peter Rhoades-Brown expects a strong turnout and encouraged supporters to book tickets in advance.

“If you’re looking to meet new and likeminded people, then The Manor Club provides an excellent platform for United’s senior supporters to talk about football and be in the company of a club legend”, said Peter.

“We’re really pleased Josh has accepted our invitation to be guest speaker and look forward to hearing his thoughts on the current campaign and hear him discuss his career to date.

“Funds raised from each of our events goes back into Oxford United in the Community’s work, all in aid of providing everyone in Oxfordshire a positive relationship with the football club.

“We hope to see both new and regular faces on April 3!”

Launched in 2017 in partnership with Oxford Brookes University, The Manor Club was created to provide an outlet for older residents and U’s fans in the eastern arch of the city to meet and socialise.

The club continues to operate as part of Oxford United in the Community’s commitment to inspiring happier, healthier and better-connected communities across the county by harnessing the power of football and the club badge.
