Oxford United in the Community is recruiting a Lead Community Coach to join its talented team and support the provision of football locally by delivering quality, inclusive, sessions.

Based at Oxford United’s training ground on the Horspath Road, the Lead Community Coach will be responsible for delivering high quality sessions across a range of school and community programmes.

The role involves a particular focus on our Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) programme which is delivered in schools across Oxfordshire and supports pupils in all areas of their curriculum using the power of football.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with children, young people and adults and hold an FA Level 2 Coaching qualification. They should also be self-motivated and have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills to help us fulfil our ambition to inspire people to lead happier, healthier and better-connected lives.

Other key responsibilities include supporting literacy, numeracy and PSHE aspects of the curriculum using PLPS resources, planning, promoting, monitoring and evaluating activities and delivery of Oxford United in the Community’s holiday courses.

Due to the multi-site nature of the role, only applicants who can drive and have access to their own vehicle will be considered for the role.

Chris Lowes, Head of Oxford United in the Community, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make a real difference locally and positively impact the lives of our participants.

“We are looking for someone who shares our passion of football and its ability to help people have positive aspirations for their futures via engaging and inclusive projects and programmes.

“Engaging people of all ages and helping them realise their true potential through the power of football is a significant part of our work. If you believe you’d be a good fit for the role, then we’d love to hear from you.”

The role is 40 hours per week with the starting salary between £21,000 and £24,000, depending on experience. Please note the role will occasionally require evening and weekend working.

To apply, please email [email protected] for the attention of Chris Lowes with your CV and a covering letter detailing how your personality and capabilities will strengthen our programmes.

The closing date for applications is midday on Friday, December 2. Interviews will take place the week commencing Monday, December 5, via Zoom.
